Iowa State University alumna Kelsey Sindelar exemplifies this path, transforming her early interest in animal science into a successful career in meat product development and process innovation.

While studying at Iowa State, Kelsey immersed herself in Meat Science through laboratory research, Meat Science Club, Quiz Bowl, teaching, and industry internships.

These experiences provided valuable exposure to meat quality, product development, consumer preferences, and commercial food manufacturing.

Her professional career progressed through organizations including Tyson Foods and the Meat Institute before becoming Process Innovation Director at Jones Dairy Farm, where she now leads initiatives focused on product and process improvement.

Her story demonstrates how Iowa State's Meat Science Program combines research, experiential learning, and industry engagement to prepare graduates for leadership roles across the global meat sector.
