Alfa Laval

Ecovado, an emerging South African agro-processing company, has launched an avocado oil processing plant in partnership with Alfa Laval.
Located in the u Vhembe District of Limpopo, the facility uses a 100% Alfa Laval processing line to produce high-quality avocado oil, primarily for export markets.
The project is designed to create economic opportunities by sourcing avocados from local small-scale farmers and expanding agricultural production in the surrounding communities.
Alfa Laval has also supported the initiative through funding for avocado seedlings, helping farmers increase future production and strengthening the plant’s long-term supply base.
The article presents the project as a model for rural industrialization, showing how food-processing technology, local entrepreneurship and agricultural development can work together to create jobs, generate income and build a competitive avocado oil industry.
